Reservior Coolant level decerease was created by Spiteri
Hello everyone,
I have a Suzuki Jimny 1998, with 146,000km on the clock and over the past months I am having to top up my Coolant Reservior with Coolant every 2 to 3 days. The coolant in the Radiator does not decrease only the reservior coolant decreses.
Has anyone had this issue or know what I can do to fix it ?
Thanks in advance.

That's what will happen with any leak - coolant from the reservoir will be sucked in to replace that lost from the cooling circuit.
Check all hoses and the water pump for blue residue (assuming original Suzuki coolant) indicating where the leak is. If you can't find an external leak, suspect the head gasket. Any substantial head gasket leak will cause white steam from the exhaust even when the engine is fully warmed up and the weather isn't icy cold.

Roger is correct, you are loosing coolant and it is topped up the reservoir.
Sometimes the leak isn't obvious as the water evaporates, but it nearly always leaves a deposit behind, so as Roger says check the hoses etc for leaks.
However, with an engine from 1998 and 146,000km a cyclinder head gasket fault cannot be ruled out and is one of the main causes of coolant leak, especially if your engine has over-heated at some point in the past.

If it makes you feel better, my similar coolant loss was simply caused by the wrong size hose clips when I chamged the top and bottom hoses. "Radiator hose clip - fits all Suzukis" turned out not to be true and I needed the slightly smaller ones. Jubilee clips don't work well in this instance - you need the correct size OEM spring clips.
