Completely agree. I haven't driven many EVs but I did have a go in some Volvo EX30 SUV thing that was over 400hp and did 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. I was excited because that's the fastest car I've driven by some margin, almost as fast as my motorbike and the bike gives me a real buzz. Turns out the press and go acceleration of the Volvo was the dullest way to go quick ever. Fast, yes, but far less fun and engagement even than my diesel Civic which takes twice as long to reach 60. It's a one-trick pony and everything else about the car was just bland, boring, unremarkable. Dull handling, poor driver feedback, intrusive electronics. A simple means of getting from A to B that happens to have the power of a 20 year old super saloon. Not for me!It really is a sad time to be a car enthusiast. Everything is just little better than a white good like a fridge or a toaster there really isn't anything quirky or interesting this side of a hundred grand.

It is really pathetic they we are being forced to buy cars that we don't won't and won't suit our needs. All to find some solutions for imagined problems.
If Europe wants to cut its throat with green addenda BS, then the fallout should only affect Europe, I don't mind them imposing those limits on cars sold in Europe but they have no right to inflect those restrictions on cars sold anywhere else in the world.

Not wishing to take sides or anything but I remember in my late teens going to London for whatever reason and you're white shirt collar was almost black after a day and you could chew on the air. But not any more. Yes Town is still a dirty hole of a place but it's not what it used to be. So I would say there are some benefits to some of this. But just as importantly it is something over there that the politics class can have us worried about and better still tax us over.

I quite like the look of the e-Vitara, I hope they sell well, especially twin motor, so there are plenty of used ones about when I come to change my electrocar.
They are still massively overpriced though, You can buy a Chinese RangeRover clone for $4000, admittedly it is a quadricycle with a 50km/hr top speed and a 50km range but if they could get them here for £4000 I'd love one to nip to the shops and the odd visit to the next town.

The market is moving to chunky SUV's and big cars. l have found that our little Jimny SZ5 seems to be a target for big car bullies, driving close behind trying to intimidate me to go faster. lt doesn't happen in my 2022 Defender.
The current valuation of our Jimny is £25,500 so values are showing no signs of coming down. l know a few people who want one but can't get one.
l don't understand the move to big cars, when it's all supposed to be about saving the planet nowadays.

Well they have to be big to incorporate the crash survival structures and still have room for people inside and they have to be heavy because they need such big batteries to have enough range to get them to the next town because they are so big and heavy. And everyone knows more is more!
