Seats gen3/gen4 was created by Nopper
Hello,
I read about the seats of a suzuki ignis sport are a good fit for the gen3.
But what about the Gen 4? There are a couple of sets up for sale. I am a upholsterer so I could make them look and feel like new again. (My core business is motorcycle seats)
But I have no idea what fits the gen4 jimny.
I see recaro Japan has a frame for the gen4 if one wants to install aftermarket recaro seats.
I presume the oem seats have airbags?(EU version). But no idea whether the ignis seats have them.
What does fit? What might fit?All info is welcome.
I'm sitting reasonably comfortable in the Jimny, but it would be cool to make custom seats for myself.

Hello Nopper -

No airbags on the seats of the 2-seat* version, at least here in the EU.

I don't know what other seats might fit the Gen4, but I can tell you that the factory seats would definitely benefit from the attentions of a good upholsterer -- they are not what I would call comfortable. I would guess that it would not be hard to fab a bracket for mounting your favorite aftermarket seats -- narrow cockpit but not impossibly so.

Good luck

Edit: I earlier wrote "2-door version" when I meant 2-seat.  In the UK the 2-seater is "LCV," in Germany "HJ".

(But obviously they are all 2-doors!

My 2020 SZ5 is fitted as standard with front seat airbags, there is a tag on them, see photo.  I am not sure about the LCV, it might have been an option.

I had Bad Boy Classic (BB6) semi-bucket seats fitted to my older Gen3 and thought about moving them to my Gen4, but when I found the Gen4 has airbags fitted I didn't want to reduce the level of safety by remove two airbags.

Have a look at this thread for details of the BB6
