SS brake hose

Does anyone have any recommendations for stainless brake hoses for the front discs.  The current hoses are in a pretty poor state and I am considering replacing them.

Personally, I see no need for SS brake hoses. I do not believe that a Jimny can develop the sort of pressures that will create a bulge situation that could cause catastrophic failure in a hose. Stalker has evaluated his current hoses and believes he needs new ones and I would advise the fitting of standard hoses. I was also advised that it is dangerous to use brake hose clamps on SS as it can crimp the mesh.

I had some braided flexi lines on my last one and without question they improved the consistency of the brake pedal feel. The pedal was firm without being wooden and made modulating braking so much easier. I got mine as new old stock on here but there's a few different suppliers.

Where did you source your hoses?

Thank you for the sound advice, I have been unable to find pipes which resemble the existing ones and they are out of stock at the Big Jimny shop, any suggestions?

I fitted Goodridge braided hoses to my old MX-5 and I can't say I felt any difference at all from the standard ones   They were also a bit too long so the banjo connections had to be tightened at an angle to.prevent tyre rub.

Standard Suzuki ones are your best option.

I fitted SS brake hose and fittings to my motorbike over 30 years ago, they still look like new.

My other car which I have owned since 2007 regularly gets an advisory about brake pipes (it has solid pipes round to the calliper and flexible pipes up to the car body) and they have to be changed every 4 or 5 years just because of corrosion.

If I was doing a major brake overhaul on a car I was planning to keep for a few years I would consider SS hose, if it was available at reasonable cost just to cut down on the replacement cost.

There are plenty of firms around, luckily I have a small engineering company 5 miles away, I just take my old ones over & ask them to make them up with the correct ends on. But there's a seller on Fleecebay doing both standard & extended ones.

Before anyone buys SS brake hoses, I suggest you go on the web and ask the question "which is better".

He supplies jimnybits with the extended front hoses for lifted Jimny's 
If you want standard length just tell him you want Jimny fittings and let him know what lengths

Define 'better'

I went on the web and asked the question "which is better, SS or basic rubber" The responses I got from a number of sites ranged from no difference at all to a marginal improvement if you did short circuit racing or similar where you had to brake hard repeatedly. There was also comments regarding poor quality control in both materials used and shoddy workmanship in assembly.
This is why I have made the suggestion, check comments online.
By the way, Martin Lines has done a video about fitting vented discs on a Gen.4. At the end he advises people that he wasn't going to fit the system permanently because his car didn't need it.
My LC was still on the original hoses after 25 years. No MoT inspector ever queried them and the brakes never gave me any worries. I hope this answers your query.
