I have a 1988 Jimny with the F5 engine. It was running fine, except it was idling around 1700 rpm, when I parked it the other day, when I went to start it in the morning it sputtered a bit and shut down. I tried it a few times that day and it would fire and run very slowly for a few seconds and then stop. Now it doesn't fire at all, I'm thinking it is a fuel problem. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a fuse for the fuel pump, I haven't found it? Any thoughts would be most appreciated. The fuel is about 3/4 full I haven't verified that there is spark yet.

F5 engine is not so common in here so sorry were not so capable to find suggestions for it.

I am guessing there is a carburetor?

Could be both coil, distributor or the Electronics inside the distributor.
Or fuel filter, bad fuel?
Is not the fuel pump mechanical and engine mounted? They rarely fail.
