I've done about 2000 miles from new in my 2023 LCV and i'm getting 39 MPG overall. That's mainly town driving with a bit of motorway thrown in. Mainly driving one up or with two big dogs in the back.

240 miles today in the auto Gen 3. Sub-optimal conditions with torrential rain and a strong wind on the front left quarter for the outward leg, but no corresponding tailwind for the return leg. Also lots of long hard hills. 16 miles in the middle of all that were my SO's driving test (she passed). There's still at least 1/4 tank left. I'd guess at 38-39mpg, same as my old manual car.
I'm knackered though - it was nearly all on the M4 in foul conditions!

What speed are you doing on a motorway to average that sort of economy?

60mph mostly. 70mph in a Jimny is a bit rock 'n' roll in a stiff crosswind.

Fuel light came on this morning at 280 miles, so about 37.5mpg. Most of that was motorway but it's also had four town trips and some idling for a coolant change. So mpg for the auto is about the same as for my former manual Jimny, which never quite scraped 40mpg even on very economical A-road runs.

Having returned from a 'grand day out' I thought I'd check the latest mpg for my 2023 Jimmy LCV. Over 418 miles it has averaged 41.2 mpg that included Motorways, A Roads and quite a few miles on B Roads. It was all driven in a normal everyday driving style and had the fun of 20mph villages and over 200 miles of being monitored by average speed cameras. Dare say I could have got more mpg by coasting down hills or even just parking up and travelling by bus. The high winds and heavy rain certainly didn't help lower my running costs and over 400 miles in a day proved that the LCV Jimmy won't win any prizes for comfort

Today I have done approx 29mpg. This has been attempting to maintain the speed limit wherever possible though the stationary traffic and serious head wind all day have made the speed limit increasingly difficult to get to. I hope tomorrow is better.

So. I've stopped for a brew on the way home and my average for the whole trip is going to be 29.8mpg. Not bad given that half of the trip is little more than single track road. Not too bad over nearly 1200 miles.

Present average on this tank is 43.1 mpg. This consists of short town work and longer A and B road work. Best ever was 49 mpg but that was a full day out at an easier than normal cruise, but it shows what is possible.
By the way, what are the best figures for the Gen.3 that members have achieved?

I never exceeded 39mpg in my manual 2014 car. The 2012 auto isn't significantly different. We've had 37mpg from it but that wasn't in ideal conditions. Fuel economy isn't a strong point! My Mazda 3 with a 2 litre 184bhp petrol engine,in a car 400kg heavier, has averaged a real 45mpg in mixed driving since I got it 4 months ago, and will easily do 50mpg on a motorway run. Aerodynamics are part of it but the M13A Suzuki engine seems to prioritise reliability over efficiency.

My figure of 29.8 is wrong I didn't take account of the fuel I still have now home. So actually it 32.8mpg which is making me very happy.

The Gen.4 has a section of the instrument panel devoted to fuel consumption, either instant or over a driven distance. I have mine to reset when I clear the distance recorder at each new tank filling. Does the Gen.3 have the same system?
