Just wanted to see what everyone gets in fuel consumption per tank,
Ive been checking on each fill up i do and taking note,

Just seeing if mines pretty standard or not

I get about 320-340km out of a full tank,
With steel rims and 225.75.16 all terrain tyres,

no other weight added other than the spare tyre on the back and roof awning.

I'm getting around the 180 to 200 miles per tank from mine. But it's an auto, and most of those miles are split between town centre driving, field work and towing. Last year on my Northumberland holiday I was getting nearer 300 miles to the tank and that was with the roof box on all week.

They vary a lot between usage, engine types and generations but that sounds pretty normal for a Gen 3. I get 150 miles (240km) when I don't go far from the farm, up to 220 miles (350km) if I'm doing mostly road work. That's with a 1.6, 215/75 tyres, slightly lower gearing and fairly spirited driving. People who drive really slow will get more.

A tank holds 40 litres and the fuel light comes on when there are about 6 litres left.

My 2014 manual generally did 37-39 mpg.   I try to avoid congestion, short trips, and stop-start driving.

The current 2012 auto did 31mpg on its first fill.  It's being used by a learner so that was mainly town driving and parking.  On a longer run, I'd expect high 30s.  It's going to get one of those next week, all the way to Swansea and back.

My 2019 JB74 SZ4 is completely standard and usually carries 2 people and an 8KG dog. We drive in the town, country lanes and a little bit of motorway.
A tank of fuel will take me 316 miles, just over 500 km.
I must be doing something right!

That is very good fuel economy, those newer jimny engines sound very efficient,

mines a gen 3 with the older m13aa engine

That's a point, according to suzuki I am actually 2 people on my own so adding my tools and a passenger gets me fairly close to gvm most of the time so yes actually I'm quite happy to be getting 200 miles to the tank.

A few tips for improving fuel consumption on these cars, regardless of what they're used for.

- IME Japanese cars don't like supermarket petrol.  The additive package is different.  Use a branded petrol.  Esso allegedly has less or no ethanol (ethanol reduces mpg slightly as it has a lower calorific value than petrol).  They run best on super unleaded because it's E5, not because of the higher octane, which is irrelevant in a Jimny.  However you will probably not get the cost difference per litre back.  It might reduce fuel consumption by 3% but cost 9% more!

- Denso iridium spark plugs can squeeze an extra 1 mpg or so, compared to standard plugs.  They are reasonably priced.

- If the car takes more than 2 miles for thw temp gauge to reach normal, consider a new thermostat.  It's not easy to change on the M13A, unfortunately.

I only had this jimny on the road for about a week before the change to e10 so didn't really get time to adjust to the expected fuel consumption difference between the auto and the manual. That said though I have had one tank of super in because that was all there was and I did think it drove better but I figured it was psychosomatic because of the expense.

I get 32-35MPG (~ 7.5 m/l) out of my Gen 3 with 215/75 tyres, that gives me a theoretical range of 300 miles, not that I ever test the tank, I usually fill up at about 220-250 miles. I have a tow bar and a fair amount of tools in the back.

I did a 200 mile round trip on Saturday to take my Mum out for lunch, our 16Kg dog was in the back, but it was only me in the front seats. I drove at a steady speed (60-65 on the main roads (dual), 50-55 on the minor roads), you would think the long run would have given a bit more MPG, but it didn't.
