Jimny LCV was created by Bob1050
Seeking a definitive answer regarding a new Jimny LCV - After driving through two speed traps on Easter Saturday, my mind wandered to whether the new Jimny LCV needs to be driven at 50mph on a road that I would normally drive my Jimny at 60mph?  Any owners of an LCV model know the answer and willing to share it? Also wondering if the 'Commercial' status would mean paying green tax extortion money to enter some UK cities?

Because it's 4x4 normal car speed limits apply. Congestion charge is another matter and may be different in each zone but being a euro6 petrol may well help, you need to check individually.

The only issue I have come across is some car parks that read the registration plate refuse to issue a ticket as "no commercial vehicles permitted"

I've looked into this too for my van and as far as I can work out the strict word of the law is that if the V5 says LCV then it's 50 but the rules seem to be inconsistently applied.

Logically my van is the same laden mass as the car version, same engine brakes everything but 50mph limit. That said I go everywhere at 60 and have had no problems in 50k miles but that wont help you in court..

The speed limit thing is because a Jimny was built or modified to be powered by all axles it is for the purposes considered as a dual purpose vehicle. Same rules as land rover defender and hard top land cruiser.

My Land Cruiser was a hard top and was treated as a car.
