Door sill covers? was created by Lambert
Does anyone know if there are door sill covers for the gen3 that are wider than the factory ones and cover all of the metal parts out to the body moulding? My old man is of restricted movement and for him to get in the car he drags his feet over the sill, this might be ok with carpet slippers but not with heavy muddy work boots, he is starting to wear through the paint. I had thought about grip tape but he needs less friction not more. What are my options, banning him from the car isn't one.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Have you tried clear paint protection film or clear vinyl tape?

(Us oldies would call it "clear Fablon", but the kids call it "wrap")

You could put a couple of layers over the exposed part of the sill, then peel it off and renew when it wears.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I think Facade has put forward the most accessible option.
Clear protection tape or "feature" tape applied to the scuff areas.
Plenty  about for no much cash, here's a carbon effect set.
3D carbon effect scuff tape

The cheaper version is duct tape.

Or you could use 0.8mm aluminium sheet and make some full size ones
use 3M tape to hold in place

Self adhesive carbon fibre tape would work well. It might take a bit of researching to make sure it is actually carbon fibre and not just made to look like it.
