hey peeps,
what with how suzuki like to use the same parts across mutiple builds, is there some other bullbars that are the right size for the gen3 jimny, like from the vitara or such, not worried about mounting brackets caus i can make those and modify the points on the bullbar if needed more worried about the width

You may find that your width requirement is a stumbling block because Jimnies are inherently narrow.

It depends on how skilled you are with the grinder and welder, if you're not then there's plenty of after market support for such things. Just be aware that not all countries are particularly keen on them and they can occupy some interesting places in law.

As bull bars have to be E marked, that marking possibly only relates to a specific vehicle or group of vehicles and doesn't allow for modification.

Taking a bull bar designed for another vehicle and modifying it to fit might invalidate the approval. I would expect that they will look at the bull bar at the MOT.

Before we dive into legislation, need to know what country the op is in.

The link above for the UK clearly says bullbars are legal. The only other thing it mentions is post 2007 the "selling" is an offence. Not the fitment, ownership or use of them.

As for fitting one from another vehicle. I just can't see how it'll work. On a Land Rover maybe, just two bolts each side on the chassis rail. But the Ironman bumper on my Jimny is highly convoluted in its fitment. Which is a winch tray and supports to the vehicle and the bumper is more of a cover that bolts to the tray, plus some additional fittings. Think there are 30 bolts or something. It'd probably be easier to make your own bumper than try and cross fit it to a different vehicle.
