Looking at this 2009 Jimny for £6990
One previous owner, 52,000 miles. Got an AA inspection done and came back with a few things but the guy did say he wasn't overly familiar with Jimnys. Is this a normal level of damage for this car?

I can't read the first screen shot, but checked the MOT history on
www.check-mot.service.gov.uk
It failed in September....
Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Nearside Rear Vehicle structure has excessive corrosion which adversely affects braking or steering Body mounting (6.1.1 (c) (ii))
Repair immediately (major defects):
Offside Front Coil spring fractured or broken (5.3.1 (b) (i))
Nearside Front Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced body mounting (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Offside Rear Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced body mounting (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Offside Front Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced Body mounting (6.1.1 (c) (i))
These must have been fixed as it passed in October. However, your report showed up where it was fixed. Your report must show where it has been fixed, although I do note it suggest significant repairs are required.
Unfortunately Jimny's do rust around the body mounts, but they are fixable if you cut the section out and weld in a new section and if it done correctly there is no reason why it won't last.
Given it has had to have body mounts welded and the age (it's 13 years old) I think it looks on the expensive side. To give you an idea I paid the same amount of money as this in 2019 and that was for a late 2011 model from a dealer with a warranty, at the time it was only 8 years old.
I would be tempted to give it a miss and look further.

I think I would walk away at that price. The car seems a bit rough for a 2009 car. I would expect some Rust but not to the stage of needing signifcant repair. Now if its been repaired professionaly and is all solid underneath then it could be a very smart 2009 car.

I wouldn't go for it, mate. I got a 2008 nearly rust-free for e4500.

Yes it's a walk away. Too expensive and not good for a 2009. My 2009 has passed the last 5 years with no advisories and has no structural rust, so this one has had a hard life.
