Jimny 5 door was created by lightning
So, there was another flurry of press articles in the Summer about the forthcoming "Jimny five door" with rendered photos and supposedly spy shots.

Does anyone have any genuine information about the "LWB Jimny" or is it all an Urban Myth? Do we think this vehicle will appear in the U.K.?

As far as I am concerned it's an urban myth ( as is any softtop version for Afghanistan etc.)

Fact: they are real, they are about to start production. This is based on a kit made in Japan and assembled in India for the India domestic market. This was developed specifically for Maruti in India.

However, any idea of these going to any other markets are, in my opinion, complete fantasy. It was developed for India.

Ask again in a month or so after the Suzuki conference

Be interesting to see, anyway. Every day I wish it was easier to move vehicles and parts around the world.

Looks to be purely for the india market, From reports and speaking to suzuki gb they say no plans for euro market

it will not be sold in the uk and certainly the engine will not change from the 1.5l so it would not be allowed here again due to co2 laws

Depends how heavy it is. The current Jimny.... despite popular media claims. Is actually quite a bit cleaner and lower Co2 than almost all other 4x4's on the market.

However there is something that allows heavier vehicles to pollute more and not get penalised for it.

IIRC the Jimny is 154 - 172 for Co2 while something like a Land Cruiser commercial is 240-258

Yes sorry the Jimny itself is not the main issue, But its the whole range Suzuki's and including the Jimny which is counted for Co2

And with Suzuki not doing any full ev cars just mainly part hybrid and mild and no signs of a full electric Suzuki for the eu market for a while. Cant bring many Jimnys into the country until thats reduced.
