On my second Gen 4. Anyone else? was created by Jimnyz
Hi Jimny folks,

So I'm on the waiting list for a brisk-blue manual having sold my jungle-green manual that I enjoyed for a few years. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Managed to get up to around 30,000 kms over that time with no problems with it at all. My new one is due in August. New Zealand still has the Jimny available as a new car as the EU regulations don't seem to have reached this far.

Has anyone else here done the gen4 twice yet? Wish I could get to the 51st celebration meet up there.

Cheers, Mike

Why would you change it already? 30,000 km is nothing on a modern car.

No chance of any new GEN4s in the UK until the commercial version comes out.

Bought mine in May 2019 new, done 56000 km, trading it in in the end of this month and getting a new one... Little bit sad but looks like it is good time to upgrade. (Also will be interesting to try new suspension, on first one - H&R +Bilstein (+45mm), for my second got - Eibach + KONI (+25mm).

Wow 5 Gen3s and having another new Gen4 while they are still errrr - new!
Yes you are getting through cars.
Got me thinking, only ever had 11 (everyday) cars since I passed my test 40 years ago.
Jimmy (current), VW Polo TDI (overrated junk), Citroen C1(great), Nissan Micra (ok), Reliant Scimitar (sounds great), Citroen Zantia (so comfortable) Ford Sierra (1.5 kids), Citroen 2CV6 (so good), VW Jetta (Nice car), Ford Escort MK2 (need I say more), Hillman Avenger (my first car), in this order!

Is that a lot or am I Mr average?

The best are
Jimny - I would have another.
Citroen 2CV - I got another as a play thing
Hillman Avenger - It's my first car, would love a Tiger version.

Just old man ramblings, forgive me.
MIke

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

It just made sense to sell it and start again. Still a 4 month waiting list here, so got a bit more for it than I paid two years ago, but not enough to buy a new one.

I don't have a gen4. Temeraire is a face lift gen3. The aesthetic, driver aids and price of the gen4 don't do it for me.

Thread steal here ...if you've had your Gen-4 that long, i wan to know (if you or anyone else knows) how long are the actual rear shafts (long and short) in the Jimny Gen-4?

We know that Suzuki lentghed the axle casing by "around" 20cm but we need to know exaclty how long the new Gen-4 Rear shafts are, and we cannot find a diagram to confirm this.

We need to know EXACTLY how long each shaft is so we can manufacture Shatfs for a Floating Axle Kit for a Jimny Gen-4.

We have measurements for the Jimny Gen-3, and everything for the Floating Ale for a Gen-3 is complete and shafts are currently in progress.
