If there were a new electric vehicle that had the proper off road architecture of the Jimny and a comparable dimension envelope I would have one tomorrow. Unfortunately there is nothing that comes close and certainly nothing that I consider robust enough for sustained farm use. Mores the pity.

Yes me also. And that's the other opportunity missed by Suzuki in my opinion with the G4. It should have been available from day one with an emission cheat battery hybrid option, better still full electric. They could have been the first and made a Jimny fit for another 30 years.

Saw the grenadier in the flesh at the weekend at a country fair at Ragley Hall. Whilst obviously a definite prototype was an impressive looking vehicle. Seemed massive interest in it, struggling to get close to it, woman on the stand said people offering their credit card to buy one!

There's a lot of money about at the moment, many people who are self employed have had large "COVID relief" grants biffed into their account by the govt
Our gardener has had £20,000 in SEISS grants and worked through COVID busier than ever.
Many small business owners round here are driving round in brand new VW Transporters
Also people haven't spent their money on foreign holidays or other activities and their kids haven't done any of their various after school things either.
Any small business with any kind of premises had a £10,000 grant thrown at them by the govt last year.
None of it was means tested and some of my friends in business are £30,000 or more better off for it.
You could claim 80% of your monthly profits up to a maximum of £7,500 every three months (even if you were still working to full capacity!!)
People are treating themselves to classic cars, new cars, motorcycles, expensive mountain bikes etc and it's pushing prices up.

It's a real shame that genuine Jimny enthusiasts with previous history with the car have been pushed out by rich kids and speculators.

Time was when a pre-loved Jimny was a cheap way into the off road life. Now it seems you need very deep pockets. But on the other hand if it prices the idiot class out of the market then is it such a bad thing?
