madness. I just paid list for a commercial and it's for the business - so vat reclaimable
£16.390. That's a 10k difference for an older vehicle
Yes, I'm looking forward to it, but No - I don't really feel lucky to get it for the list price, I would never pay a penny more.
I suppose as with anything, it's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, and there seems to be a lot of willing people out there.

That must be a record asking price for a standard Jimny?

Anyone paying £30k for a stock Jimny needs their head examined, prices have gone crazy.

In 2018 before the pricing was announced I was hoping it would be around £15k and now look at it!

I do wonder how many people selling theirs now are just trying to cash in? If they had fallen in price as per normal depreciation, I bet more than half wouldn't be selling.

I wouldn't even if I were offered £50k, no other car on the market interests me.

We love our Jimny but if prices rose above £30,000 (l am certain that they won't) l think l would be tempted to sell.
l think that most people paying these prices will be buying on PCP where the price is less important than the monthly payments.

For instance if the monthly payment is within budget, it doesn't matter so much what the price is. Because you never own the vehicle.

Obviously the MGFV is also an issue, but less so than if you were buying the vehicle outright.

If one of these car buying places offers you £30k, £27k or whatever price, they will look to make around 20% when they sell it on, perhaps slightly less f it is a very new car, but they still have to offer a warranty, clean and market it, so don't expect too much.

I doubt any of them will go below 10% and some will be looking for much more of a mark up.

So if they offer you £25k, 20% is £5k, that makes a sale price of £30k. I can't see anyone paying £30k for a second hand car that retailed for under £20k new, well not a Suzuki, that is a 50% increase, it's just not going to happen.

I really doubt that any of these car buying services will offer you much more than £20k for a second hand Jimny, unless it is delivery mileage and in 'as from the showroom' condition. They will sell it on for £25k, that might happen.

I have been looking at PX my JB74 for something a bit bigger, car dealers are aware of the unusual price rises of the new Jimny. I have been offered between £24500 and £25500 against other cars, I would assume it will be the PX where the biggest amount you will get from the trade as they can make on both cars.
We buyanycar.com have offered £26300 but I would be very suprised if I got anywhere near that price when you take it for the valuation.

WBAC offered us £26,500 for our 2020 SZ5

l was tempted to take it down to the office just to see what they actually offer.
The car is like new so they won't be able to pick any faults with it.

lf you go for the appointment are you under any requirement to sell them the vehicle, if they offer the stated price?
Or can you still say "l will let you know" and leave?

From the WBAC website

After this stage, if you’re happy with the valuation and would like to proceed, you can sell your car quickly and easily right then and there. Simple!

I could make money on Temeraire right now but I would need another one so it makes no sense which renders the value somewhat meaningless.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
