Interestingly, just had an insight.

A company with a not dissimilar business model to WBAC are buying bolt on modifications goodies for Jimnys.

Wonder if they are trying to "add value" to cars they have taken in

Can't see any ref to this so here goes...

Are the Commercial variants Vans or Cars for speed limits?

Cheers for any help with this one,
Rich.

Cheers all, will wait till our v5 arrives and see what it says. I have a feeling it’s commercial so van limits, so much confusion it seems. Anyway, sticking to the lower limits is no hardship in a Jimny!

Anyone tried a gen 4, four seater full rubber load liner in the commercial - is it far out fit wise? Not the bucket one, just the rubber mat.

cheers!

All Jimny are subject to car speed limits. Regardless whether it is a van or a car on the log book it is both less than the required mass and is manufactured with the facility to drive all wheels so meeting the requirements for observing car speed limits.

Lifted from the UK government website

Vans, car-derived vans and dual-purpose vehicles
Most vans:

have a lower speed limit than cars
must follow the speed limits for goods vehicles of the same weight
Vehicles under 2 tonnes laden (loaded) weight may qualify as a ‘car-derived van’ or ‘dual-purpose vehicle’. These vehicles have the same speed limits as cars.

Just booked mine in for a 2k health check.
From what I gather it's just a 'visual health check'
Is this required, would it make a difference in the Service history? haven't really got the time to faff about with this

Thanks

Mrs Axholme is the warranty advisor at our local dealer and she reckons hardly anyone has this done. It's more for piece of mind for non car type people. It won't affect your warranty or anything if you don't bother.

Thanks. I'll take a walk around later and strike it off, lol

Oh, balls! The TPS light is still flashing tho, I couldn't imagine our Jimny without this extra feature!
