Hello. I own a 2004 jimny with the interior from 2012 (done by previous owner). I really like the “boxy” look of the dashboard of the newest jimny and the generation before mine. Is there a way to buy an aftermarket dashboard or swapping the dashboard to go with my desired interior style? Have you done any modifications to your dashboards and how did that go? Thank you, any tips or suggestions would be appreciated

I would suggest by the lack of replies no one has bothered to swap the dash. I think it may be wise to spend your cash on other mods. Cheers.

I did not reply just in case people had swapped things around, I guess me101 is correct.
That said I did think if anything was to be done it would be a "cut and shut" fabrication job with a flocked finish or a fiberglass moulding. Plenty of interesting instrument clusters in the racing scene that are already "square", these could be integrated into a dash. A GEN3 dash should be cheap enough to obtain and just get creative.
I would prefer the fibreglass route (ex Scimitar owner) and found plenty of people on You Tube doing similar.
Here's an example
It's going to be a bit more involved as potentially you need to make the complete dash, but it's not impossible. If you decide to give it a go find a local fibreglass company and ask nicely if you can have the floor sweeping and fill some jars with resin, they usually help you out. I did and got loads of resin / fibreglass / Gel coat (don't forget mould release) for a donation to the tea fund.
