What I don't get is when I had the wheels and tyres replaced the garage swapped the tpms sensors over, set the pressure to 38 then reset tpms. I went home and dropped it to 26 then 24 and no alarms. Now I've gone to 22 it's gone off

The tpms has two settings in the menu comfort and off-road or something. I might set it to the off-road and see what happens.

Worst come to worst I'll pop it back up a psi or two.

Please don't take this as an insult to your abilities, but what gauge are you using and are the tyres at ambient temp.

As far as I know the system doesn't recognise over pressure only under.

You could fool the system by attaching the TPMS sensors with there special tyre cores to an air tank set at the required pressure and fixed somewhere inside the engine bay. If properly made it should hold it's air pressure for a decent period of time.
Anybody want to give it a go?
No you can't do that Roger, the system just doesn't check pressure it checks movement. If the tyres aren't rotating you won't get a reading. Chris

Email exchange with Bridgestone, they confirmed the "26psi" is at ambient temperature.

I argued for the tyres to be set at ISA and the TPMS calibrated accordingly.
This method would remove the need to adjust the pressures as the ambient temperature varied up or down. (same for altitude)

He did give me the Static Loaded Radius for their original Bridgestone 195 80 R 15 tyre, factory fitted to the Jimny, so the inflation pressures (altitudes) and load measurements can be compared or confirmed.

Perhaps if they had coded the tpms to look for a difference in readings taken over 24 hours it would be a more effective system ie check every second compared with the figure from the same time 24 hours previous that way it's a relative measure and can warn of an issue but also allow for alternative terrain and tyre type pressure.
