This might sound overly simple, but whatever vehicle I'm using I always drive with the headlights on dipped beam. It makes it very visible any time of day and night in any conditions. Both front and rear lights are on, no need to think about different settings for different scenarios, no need for fancy light patterns that distract other drivers etc.

Combined EU spec DRL and fog lamp units are £106 each and the wiring stub ( only needed if you have the DRL wiring in the loom, I suspect it's easier to wire it in yourself) is £64 each

Yes i now do the same. But you have to switch lights on and off every time. If you leave light switch on and you open door then it beep. Dont want to do that.

What I do currently that lights are always on on dim, is that I put a cover over light sensitivity sensor on dash and put light switch on "auto".

So when I start jimny the lights are on on dim.
No need to think about "lights"

But of course, we drive on the left and we're still British! :)

In the Landcruiser I did the same as Buster. In Tonka I tried with lamp switch on auto but dipped beam would come on when going under trees or anywhere in shaded areas. I was criticised by one driver for flashing at him so I reverted back to DRL's but bought the LED ones when I found that Martin sold them. They are a big improvement and hopefully solve the problem of other drivers not seeing me, but it doesn't solve the problem of no DRL's for the back.
