If you are looking into the wiring.

There should be a main loom coming down behind the lights with a small multi-way connector on it.

In a fog light only set up, a stub lead comes from this connector to the bulb

In a fog/DRL set up, a stub lead comes from this connector and splits into two, feeding the DRL and Fog bulbs separately.

I suspect that Fog only set ups will have "spare" connections on the multiway that are picked up by the DRL stub lead.

NOTE that as DRLs are a legal requirement in the EU, the bulbs are monitored by the CAN system. Therefore even if the wires are there, the system will be turned off to prevent alerts. I have seen a reference somewhere to turning the DRLs off/on but cannot find it at the moment.

Thanks Martin.

I have send you a PM.

It seems that I will need to get the wiring loom from the stud as well. i opened the back of bumper and found only single wire set to the fog lights.

Appreciate the help.
Will discuss buying via PM

This is the interesting bit. This is where the DRLs fit and the stub cable splits. Looks like you have the fog light only stub cable which is correct.

Did you manage to come right finding the DRL wiring for the SA version Jimny (I.e. without the DRL housing in the fog light). I bought a pair of the LED indicators which have DRL functionality, so quite tempted to try wire them in, but cautious about the legal requirements.

i did some digging around in the fog light area and saw that there are 3 wires coming down, but only 2 of them are connected within the Male/Female connection (see image where one of the connections is blank). I tried splicing into this third wire (on the assumption that this would likely have been the same wiring setup for EU spec vehicles with DRL standard, but discovered that there is no 12v coming through this wire at all.

I am a bit hesitant to try splice into any other OEM wiring, so wanted to see if you figured it out or had any ideas?
