radio upgrades

Hi all and thanks a lot for all the useful information in this thread. I am awaiting delivery of my new Jimny LCV and want to upgrade the head unit and install a rear camera. If anyone has had any recent experience doing this to an LCV then I would be grateful for an update. Thanks again.

Hi there. Did you have any luck getting the steering wheel controls working with this pioneer radio? I’ve got the right connects2 lead but can’t work out how which wires are meant to be connected to activate the steering wheel volume controls etc. Everything else is working great thanks

I have also just fitted a pioneer (360 DAB) to replace an aliexpress unit….i have fitted an in car tec….adapter and the steering wheel controls work …waiting on a reply from technical …will let you know what they say

Thought I would jump on the back of this rather than start a new topic. I have a newly imported Jimny SZ5 spec that has this antenna but nor stereo installed, just a blanking plate:

I believe people who had a UK SZ5 have a stock antenna that works with DAB? But I only have the one DIN style plug like the one shown in images above (With 2 cables feeding into it)  which I have working for FM but no Fakra or any other feed coming from this antenna as far as I know. Is there anyway I can get this working for DAB without having to by a windscreen one?

I know you can get DAB FM splitters but they don't work with amplified antennas and not sure if this would be or not being a short one.

My SZ5 has the stock antenna and Bosch SLDA radio and I confirm it is DAB.

The DAB seems to be a little more sensitive than my aftermarket DAB radio in my other car, so the antenna on the rear must be working reasonably well as I have an amplified whip antenna on my other car.

I assume that all of the Jimny's have the same antenna, but if a DAB radio wasn't fitted as standard, it might lack the DAB amplifier.

Yes, the JDM antenna is different to the UK supplied ones, early on I want to get hold of that folding one to replace my SZ5 one so I didn't have to keep unscrewing the tip, to put it in the garage.
