Hi all,
Just a quick hello and a bit about my Jimny which I've inherited through my son in laws late father.
Well the Jimny is a 2000 ,13, auto. 32000 roughly on the clock been garaged for most of its life ,not been driven for 2-3 years so I'm about to embark on preparing to start it. as many of you will know it. Won't start there are many things that you need to do prior to starting I've got list of things that you need/should do ,any additional things that I need to do please let me know.
Here's what I've found to do so far
Check battery =charged
Check spark plugs and lightly oil cylinders (mystery oil) done
Oil & filter change
Drain old petrol tank and refill with fresh,
Spray some carb cleaner into carburettor .cold
Cold crank engine over to get things moving.
I'll let you know how things develop!

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)
Hello and Welcome .
Good luck, hope it all works.
You may find it will no go in gear which is likely to be the clutch stuck to the flywheel, can happen on stored vehicles. If so you can try keeping the pedal depressed for a few hours or start the car in gear, clutch pedal depressed, foot on brakes. This shock can free the clutch.

Cheers Mike it's an automatic!, I was over on Monday trying to start with its old battery no joy just no enough CCA for this jimny,so I've ordered a new,The problem is its position ,facing inside the garage and some trees over grown at one of driveway gates so couldn't even get my car in to give it a jump start.

Welcome to the forum. Jimny are usually very good at starting and being efi there is less mechanical things to seize up, though the injectors can stick and the seals perish. But if it was driving a couple of years ago it shouldn't offer much resistance to going again.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there
I'd have just checked the water level in the radiator (in case of a head gasket leak), dipped the oil (don't know why, it is just something you do) and started it.
Two years is nothing.

This is what tv programmes like Chasing Classic Cars does, makes people think that a car stood for a couple of years needs to be cajoled back into life like something that has been in a barn for decades.

Other than a dead battery, I'd have expected a Japanese engine sat for a couple of years in a dry garage to start first turn of the key.
