Somewhere above I showed interest in a Michelin tyre with a T speed rating. Higher speed ratings are generally attained by making the side walls stiffer. All other things being equal I would go for the lowest load capacity and lowest speed rating (while keeping it road legal) and lowest weight in a 215 - given how light the Jimny is, and the lack of power I think this will benefit on road and off road as long as you're not driving on flint, or trying to solo across the Australian outback.

I'm with you there cyberdriver. I've been looking for any 96-97 load rated 215/75R15 tyres on the market in the UK - but not come up with anything yet.

100 rated tyres are obviously OK, but a slightly lower rating would be even better for on road. Bosanek's experience with - admittedly 108 rated tyres, sticks in my mind.

This is where I bought mine from and as it turns out, they are not 97 load rated. They are 100/97 as mentioned above.

Just to add, I took part in the 'Kielder Safari' over the weekend, a nice mix of gravel, mud and rocky tracks. They were absolutely excellent. Including on the 4 hour motorway drive up there! So far so good and I would be happy to recommend them to others considering them.
