Falken Wildpeak A/T01 100S 215/75R15 "around the 16KG mark"
Michelin LTX Force 100T 215/75R15 13.9KG
Both disappointing for these styles of tyre. The Michelin looks like the Defender LTX in the US market where it has a UTQG rating of 800 - overkill for my needs but helps explain the weight.

Guy 2 wrote: Hi Folks - I'm new to the Big Jimny Forum so thought I should try to contribute at least something that might be of interest.
I'm on The Waiting List (or the Jimny equivalent of "Napoleon's Retreat from Moscow", as I like to think of it) for a black auto - but, of course, unless I'm picky that could turn into any colour on Suzuki UK's list!
In the meantime I've busied myself with investigating slightly more robust tyres than the Bridgestone HTs that the Jimny will likely arrive with. I was inclining towards either the Yokohama G015 or the Cooper AT3 Sport - and found the following:
www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2018-Auto-...Season-Tyre-Test.htm
and
www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2017-Drive...ad-4x4-Tyre-Test.htm
These tyre tests are probably fairly well known to Forum members because they have been around for a few months/years. The first test is compromised because it is on-road only, and it only refers to the G015 and the Grabber AT3 as comparisons for road-going all-season tyres. The second test is perhaps a bit more useful but, being a South African publication, they don't seem very interested in wet road performance, and the size of tyre used, 265/65 R17, suggests a much larger/heavier vehicle - so there may be some doubt over its relevance to the Jimny.
Then I came across the slightly weird:
This appears to be a Facebook group for Dacia Duster owners who, amongst other things, have attempted a fairly comprehsive review of AT tyres in the 215/65R16 size the Duster uses. (It is also a paean of praise for Coopers - so you might want to take that with a pinch of salt.)
A STRONG WORD OF WARNING - this must be a contender for the most boring video on the net (a still photo of three tyres with 27 minutes of monotonous voice over!). However, if you fast-forward to minute 24 of the video and freeze-frame, there is a really interesting comparison chart for both tester and user experience with a variety of ATs.
I would never have found it unless I had idly Googled "Cooper AT3 videos" - so other Forum members may not have seen it yet.
Now, I am not saying this is definitive, I am not saying Coopers are the best tyres, and I am certainly not saying that the Duster is comparable to the Jimny - although in weight and size it is a lot closer than many. I found it interesting all the same.
Hope it may be of use to someone somewhere - perhaps someone else on 'The Long Retreat'!

After Lambert's championing of road tyres on the Jimny I have had a quick look at the Michelin Latitude Cross. I haven't got a specific weight - but it will be the same, or even maybe slightly less than, the OE tyres on the Jimny. It is very well reviewed - except for the big issue of weak sidewalls. So you probably would not be advised to air it down (and bulge the sidewalls out). Probably no good for you as a consequence?

The Bridgestone AT 001 seems to be just about the lightest weight of any AT - so for a fun drive I think they would be good.
Incidentally, the 001s are already available here in the UK in 215/75 R15 - so I guess that as soon as the tyre comes fully onto the market in Oz they are likely to be available in that size.
Have fun.

I assume you mean Toyos and Old Man Emu suspension? I maybe wrong there.
I am afraid I have been rather 'out of the picture' these last few months (I got very fed up with Suzuki GB). But I'm always interested in tyre and suspension combinations.
Have fun with your Jimny!

Today we picked up our 2024 gen4 with only 1200kms.
We drove it home on the oem steels but it also came with a extra set of alloys rc33x (oem replica's???) 15x5.5 with bridgestone dueler AT002 fitted in size 225/70-15. It's a chunky mean looking tire but it doesn't look wrong at all on the narrow rim. So I think there is no danger in using it. Diameter is almost identical to the oem tyre.
Also took the time to weigh both wheel/tire combos. Oem was 18,2 kg and alloys with AT are 19.5kg. So not a very big difference so they will not ruin performance I guess.
BTW oem tires on the 2024 in Europe seem to be dunlop at20 grandtrek, not dueler ht

Try driving the car for a week on the alloys and then switch to the OEM steels and see if you can feel the difference in the way it stops.
One of my Jimnys came with Dunlop GrandTreks as the OEM rubber, the other with Bridgestone Duellers.

And that size 225/70-15 has a diameter very similar to the oem 195/80.
So I do not expect to loose a lot of performance nor mileage.
