He is still saying the same thing he did back then. Hope fully able to order in April. Outside chance of some allocation around that time, but don't hold your breath. Most likely end of this year, beginning of next for delivery. I'm 1st of 5 waiting to order.
This is weird. What happened to each dealership getting a certain number of cars each and every quarter? My dealer even told me they were getting 4 per Quarter as they are a top scoring dealership. Making me wonder if Japan is now keeping some of these cars for domestic sales.

My dealer is a small one. when I went in he told me they had already allocated their five Jimnys. But I was first on the list when ordering restarted. He said at the time if there was a further random allocation, I might get lucky if my spec was available, around April time.
Apart from that he didn't seem to think there was anything else coming in.

Bob1050 wrote: No sign of the Suzuki ex-press fleet vehicles appearing at a dealership near you? That might be one way to obtain one and get the queue moving? Might be worth asking your dealer if they have been offered or made a bid for a few of them?
I might be wrong but it could be that the demonstrator my dealer has is one of those, I'll have to ask, but if it is they are not allowed to sell them.

I would imagine, as helijohn says, the ones that were de-fleeted after the launch went as dealer demos, which they can't sell for a year. The ones that stayed on the press fleet were set to stay on the fleet for up to 2 years, they told me.

I know there will be some customer somewhere who has had a bad experience - but then this seems to apply to virtually every marque.
Some Suzuki dealers seem to be quite small local operations - who will have built up word-of-mouth reputations for service - possibly over several decades. They risk both a hostile reaction from all customers, and watching a new customer base of more urban 'fashionistas' first take an interest and then drift away - possibly never to return.
To me at least, Suzuki UK seems to have not learnt from the last 10 years of organisations having to handle generic stories that then turn into 'bad news'. Be honest, apologise and make certain that people get as much information as possible, as quickly as possible. Also ensure that everyone in your extended organisation is saying the same thing.
