Count myself beyond lucky as I only ordered in January and had an expected delivery date of 29th March (which in itself was good compared to some!). For reference to those waiting, as mentioned previously, I managed to secure this one as a pre-built car that was waiting shipping, wasn't fussy on spec, rang seven dealers and this was the best one for me as it was already built so was unlikely to have big wait. It's my dealers first allocation of cars that were due in January and mine is likely to be the first one sold. They have a list of 10 people waiting with next cars due in April but have no idea on spec and are going to offer them to their waiting list.
Congrats, must feel great.
They reckon i'm now 6th on the list, and each person wanting different colours! I find that hard to believe myself. Black, silver, blue, beige, yellow, white...... Errmmm sounds iffy. But i live in hope.
Enjoy!

If that's true then you could be elevated to first instantly depending on the colour that turns up!

Interesting thought process. Not sure if it suits Suzuki but it certainly suits me. Shortage of supply, rarity and reliability mixed with well tested components. Fantastic news for those of us who have bought theirs and have an interest in healthy residual values. I don't especially want to see a glut of these on the market and the old model was very much a niche product with a core following.
On the other hand - maybe my old 2019 model on a '68' plate is shortly going to be such a public embarrassment on the driveway outside my residence. As my neighbours take delivery of their new '19' plate cars, will they will look at me with disdain, class me as an underachiever and question whether "times are hard" if I drive an old car..
Maybe it's time to try and join the queue for a new '19' plate Jimny and see if I can off-load the old '68' plate one?

I guess I'll put my interest in one on the back burner for 12 months.

Must be me but I notice how there is, in nearly all cars, a lot of headroom - some are really bad - and that wasted space could be put to good use with a higher seat!

I can't speak for the new Jimny but generally it is possible - there is a lot about this on the forum. I found searching hard though I dug this out.GeorgeC wrote: Has anyone investigated putting some spacers, say 1/2-3/4 inch, with longer bolts under the rails?

I'm not so fussed about the new reg plate per se, but the 1st March is a significant birth date for me w.r.t. someone who is sadly no longer with us so I like to think there's a little bit of that person involved
