I suppose that’s where we were fussy with who’s we took orders off, they were existing jimmy customers known to us so we know they won’t cancel will love the car and will accept what we have sent to us.
Ah yes we do get quite a few time wasters and dreamers, generally don’t have an issue have a few mins chat but sometimes they want an hour of your time and a long test drive, we kindly remind some of them that it’s a long waiting list and we have priority test drives booked.
Yes that’s the issue it’s actual stock, the fact is no dealer can order a car you litreally get sent what Suzuki send you that’s it. We have seen some customers saying oh yes I’ve ordered a sz5 In kinetic well in fact you’ve placed a deposit to be offered a car, if you’re lucky to get what you want brilliant but no dealer can actually order anything. Our customers know they will get offered a car nothing more we promise nothing on what’s it will be.

I have been told that dealers are getting 3-4 cars a month from Suzuki GB.
Sadly not true. Depends on the size of the dealer. Small ones have only 2 or 3 per Quarter. Largest will get more, particularly if they have multiple outlets. Suzuki global seem to have misjudged it.
One hope is that people have registered multiple times with at least one person having contacted every dealer in the UK. This artificially lengthens the queue. When they get a car all the other queues suddenly get shorter. Difficult to judge the real demand.

I understand individual dealers play the game their way. TBH I dont like the way your profiling customers for their "worthiness". And an hour for a chat too long? Spening 20k and you want a quick Hi n bye. No wonder this is a mess. No offence.

I think you misunderstood. We won’t spend an hour with Dreamers who are pretty much upfront with us and say we are just curious not buying. I am commissioned based so clearly wouldn’t spend much time with them but I will answer questions and help.
No the reason this is a mess is there isn’t a enough cars it’s that’s simple. No offence to you either.

But we don’t get paid until the car arrives and is delivered to the customer.

Where we can all agree is that demand and supply appear vastly out of kilter this year. Can understand Suzuki GB not wishing to import too many cars until they have a better idea of what volume of new Jimnys the UK market can sustain year on year. Of course that assumes that Suzuki Japan views the UK market as more important than some other international markets from a profit and profile point of view?

This is just as frustrating for us as is is for the customers. We have a great product and really want to get it out on the roads and make a living doing so currently neither is happening from the Jimny.
Issue for uk and Europe is market share it just isn’t big enough for them to warrant building another factory out of Japan to build more.
And just 2000 units for 2020 in my view is also too small but it is what it is will have to see what progresses. Profit wise not sure on that Suzuki are doing very well with quite a few of their models.
I think it’s just market share and purely the fact the Japanese Factory is flat out and barely can produce enough.

So what defines a big dealer? (who will get the max number of motors). I was told its not based on size of dealership but rather the location?
Thanks again.

Purely based on the number of cars they sold the year before. So it’s quite unfair really some dealers obviously have larger target bases to go at.
Big dealers who did the most numbers get 5 per quarter. Smaller dealers get 2 per quarter.
Defiantly not location otherwise we would be getting 5 per quarter.

The ignoring thing I’m not sure what happened. Can only go off our experience as far as we are aware whoever signed our to us locally we were passed the details and had to arrange test drives, but we have had some customers say they didn’t get contacted we certainly haven’t ignored people the leads just didn’t come through not sure where the problem developed.
