£70 for the snorkel is the cheap part, its the extra insurance premium that you now have to pay because your vehicle is now modified

Insurance is what it is. They know about everything, tow bar, roof rack etc being my age makes chuff all difference to it.

On a plus you now have a less visable route into the engine bay for your light bar cable, should you wish to take it

I always wonder why people who fit a snorkel 'for the look' bother drilling the panels at all? I don't fancy one myself because I rarely go in water above the top of the tyres, but if I did I'd stick it on with some good polyurethane adhesive. Then you can peel it off again when you come to sell the car and it won't dent the resale value.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

As he says, by not bothering to drill the panel at all. No holes.
My estimate is that max 5% of snorkel fitted cars gets water over the door handles.
The rest gets cold(er) air into their engines though, and yes it can look good.
Especially this shorter one looks good.
