I’ve been mulling over a snorkel for a while now, not because I “need” one but i really like the look and wanted one. LR challenge 4x4 are selling a safari style kit for £70 just now. So I took the plunge as it’s a bit different.

Not going to lie, drilling big holes in my Jimny had my sphincter puckering.

It’s a bit of a fiddle to fit as the inner wing needs the hole enlarged too.

But after lots of measuring, remeasuring, and measuring again it’s done so I’m a happy camper

It’s a good fit, and I like the look. But I need something to fill the logo oval that’s moulded into it (it did come with a metal “4x4 snorkel” plate but it looks a bit naff, I have a friend with a 3D printer that might be able to sort me out with something, I just need to come up with an idea.

First chance I get I’ll post a pic with better lighting.

My first day review,
I’m happy with the quality, but there is a serious lack of instructions. If you happen to buy one you may find the genuine safari instructions a great help. I’d have loved to have bought a genuine one but I couldn’t justify the £’s

www.safari4x4.com.au/images/products/suz...l-suzuki-install.pdf

You do get a noticeable induction noise that wasn’t there before (part of the instal involves removing the resonance chamber) but I like it.

When the ram head is pointing forward I do see the corner of it out of the windscreen, but I think I’ll get used to it, if not I can always run it pointing towards the rear.

Overall I’m happy with it.

Cheers, T

I like the idea of fitting a snorkel for the exact same reason!

How about a Japanese Rising Sun gel badge in there? (or any other gel badge for that matter!) Easily available from Amazon or eBay.
EXAMPLE HERE... If you hunt around they are available in a mass of different sizes so you're bound to find something that fits with minimal trimming.

I know thse aren't oval, but looking at your superb bit of 'measure, repeat, cut' (or - measure twice, cut once as they say) this would be well within your capability.
My only concern would be bonding it on with something that keeps it bonded on - plastic stuck to plastic can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. But if you scuff the surface up with a small instrument such as a Dremel I see no reason why it wouldnt work well.

IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

That’s a great idea. Hadn’t thought of that. I’ll need to have look at what’s available. :)
