I got the rear calipers off eBay 25pounds a side renault magane rear calipers.

Just finished upgrading the fronts to early vitara calipers with vented discs and really cannot believe the difference in braking performance. Best money I've spent on the jimny yet.

Old thread revival.

Martin posted in the 'what did the postman bring today' thread about receiving the calipers and discs for this conversion this week.

Martins goodies:


This renewed my interest in sorting out my brakes. I already have the discs (or so I thought).

Trip to the local scrapyard where I knew there was a car with the right hangars on it...









Very rusty and obviously been sitting around ages as its all solid. £20 later and back home to try it on (obviously the old caliper is to bin).

Hangar fits a dream onto the Jimny mounting points:


But the discs I have are for a vitara as it turns out (the hat isnt high enough for a Jimny)


So I need new discs that fit and the calipers to match.

Cleaned up the carriers for now in readiness :-)


If Martin is reading - can you post links to the ones you bought please?
