Sorry for hi jacking your thread Viducce

First number is the width in mm. Second number is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width. Third number is the rim diameter.
205/70r15 = 205mm wide, 143mm sidewall, 15 inch rim. Standard tyre.
195/80r15 = 195mm wide, 156mm sidewall, 15 inch rim. 13mm taller than standard.
235/75r15 = 235mm wide, 176mm sidewall, 15 inch rim. 33mm taller than standard.

Thanks for all the informative replies.
Found this site on which you can compare tire sizes very effectively...

No worries about gearing with 195/80R15?
But it will need a lift for these tires, right?
Is a 2" lift sufficient?
Must admit it will be my wife's car so I sort of can only sneak in a little here and there.....

Here's the link to that site:

@ Helijohn, thanks it's got a Lokka front and ARB rear locker and climbs like a goat...

Never seen 185/85r16 size tyres before. It will be right on the limit of whether you need a lift or not. If they are re-moulds you will definitely need a 2" lift though.
They will work ok on standard gearing but you will definitely notice the difference.

In Japan the got the Jimny without the fender extensions, they run that 600 cc engine to fit in the small car category...
Wonder how those tires would look on an 1.3 Jimny...
