MOT Failure----NOT!!!! was created by baz_zuki
Hi everybody, I've not written on the forum for a while. I took my Jimny for a MOT today. Whilst waiting in the office I could hear the tester and numerous mechanics looking at and talking about the Jimny. Eventually the tester came in and handed me a FAILURE ticket. It stated failed due to excessive rust to front brake pipes.
I knew the brakes and pipes were ok as I had changed the discs and pads last week, and had checked the pipes. I remembered reading on this forum about the front hub pipes being mistaken for brake pipes, so I challenged the tester and explained how the hubs work. He put the Jimny back on the ramp and I showed him the pipes. He was shocked and apologised, and said he had never seen this before!!!! WOOHOO he handed me a Pass certificate.
It just goes to show that lots of garages don't know or understand the Jimny! So it pays to question people on their understanding of the Jimny. It worked for me. Thanks to the forum and you guys. Baz

Nice one! When you find a test station that understands then stick with it. ;)

And these people are supposed to be professionals!

It's not hard to see they are nothing to do with the brakes from the route they take and what they are connected to.
