Lost Steering Wobble

While fitting my wheel spacers today, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone, and try & eradicate the wobble at 45mph I had suffered since adopting my Jim last month.
After removing the two front wheels, I spent an hour cleaning 10 yrs of baked on crud from the inside of the 3 spoke alloys before getting them re-balanced. The l/h wheel had a 30g weight on the inside edge & was spot on....., the r/h wheel also had a 30g weight on the inside..., but only required a 10g weight after balancing :dry: . All mating faces were cleaned & copper-eased before assembly, then the operation was repeated on the rear.
A road test resulted in a very compliant ride with no wobble from 30 to 70mph & back. The steering is still a bit fidgety over tramlines & potholes, but in my opinion, not wobbly, especially at 45mph :lol: happy days
The front wheels suffered from crud more than the rears presumably because they hadn't been swapped as often as they should've & collected more brake dust etc.
As your tyres wear down, maybe the original balancing becomes less accurate & should be re-done on the front whenever you need to swap back to front?

It's good you sorted it. Could you post the same in the Death Wobble sticky for others to find easily in the future when trying to solve their wobble please.
