Hastiekid, seen as you actually own a set of these can you clarify if there is a large difference between the softer setting and the harder setting. Being uprated shocks I'm fully aware that the word soft doesn't necessarily mean they are like jelly and I imagine are still a stiffer upgrade, even on the soft setting, than worn out standard Jimny units?

Yes there is definite adjustment BUT the hard/soft thing realy relates to what springs you have not the dampers, if you have realy tough springs your ride will always be harsh.

If you have springs that match the weight of the Jimny, you should be able to tell the difference between softest and hard damping of the AVO shocks.
I once considered them for my Jimny, and was told by Rus that the softest setting is softer than standard shocks, and the hardest setting is harder than ES9000.
Due to lack of money I ended up buying Rough Coutry N2.0, which works out pretty well. But some day, when I have the money, I want better shocks. Terrafirma makes some shocks, that looks really interesting:)

This is only for some fun at the local pay & play (Drumclog), but it involves about 30+ minutes of driving each way.. Jimny will be getting lifted, think 3 or 4 (suspension lift) and will be getting castor corrected arms.
