Standard wading depth is (I think) around 600mm, this is measured, and not a published figure. Suzuki don't reccomend that you go deeper than the bottom of the doors.
It's a rental (so it doesn't matter ) but if it was yours, I would suggest fitting diff, transfer and gearbox breather extenders to prevent more ingress.
Curioiusly a standard defender has a maximum wading depth of only 500mm, published by Land Rover, a disco 3 sits at 700mm and I believe the new Range Rooney Vogue is a whole whopping 900mm!

i've had mine up to the headlights but wouldnt like to go any deeper. i agree with the comments that the current is a big risk. heres a vid of mine crossing and you can see it go sideways

i had it over the bonnet up to wipers in my stock unlifted jimny at Brent Pelham, I was even able to start the engine after I stalled in the deep water. however there was no current there so no risk of being swept away, but still very deep.
