Ooooh that looks like a big one.

My new one is half that size.

And you have no wires coming from the +ve terminal. I cut my red +ve cover off to make it quick release as it got in the way then fixed it back with a tie - there are lots of supplementary wires on my +ve terminal see.

There are two different types.

Older Jimnys have the worlds smallest battery (the last vehicle I had with a battery that small was a Honda C90!), it also fits the other way around with the positive terminal near the bulkhead.

More recent Jimnys have a larger battery which fits the other way around.

You can fit the larger batteries to older vehicles if you are prepared to change the battery connectors on the cabling.

My new one is smaller than the one that was on when I got the motor but way bigger than the smallest that you refer to Martin. They were almost motorbike size weren't they.
I think the one I had was 24cm long and the new one 20cm but I'd have to check.
But hey, it works so that's fine.

you could fit a normal sized battery if your prepared to mod the battery tray a bit, the fuze box (think thats what it is) needs to move over and youd need a wider battery strap i think. was gonna do it when i got a new battery but couldnt be bothered in the end lol.

The tray on mine will take a fairly large battery. In my case I doubt it makes much difference what capacity is fitted.
