Well I had great fun today! I jacked my Jimny up and got to work cleaning the components under the car with degreaser and a wire brush.

Transfer case was 4 shades of black, now it's clean! Same for the drive shaft, differentials, axles, steering arms and tow bar. The arms and axles are nice and smooth to the touch now!

Afternoon well spent I think!

I've also ordered some stuff of ebay.

-CD of the workshop repair manual for my jimny

-Jimny Keyring Heres a picture!

- and 2 * H4 OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER PLUS BULB

Started to fit my goodwinch goldfish and customised ORA front recovery points  . Just need to wire the winch in, refit my A bar and do some cosmetic work and return the truck to looking kinda normal . Here's a teaser for those who might be interest. Gonna be a few days before the finished job pics will go up in the my jimny thread

I had a problem fitting the same winch with the pipes, there was a bracket holding the pipes attached to the chassis I bent it In over towards the radiator to clear the winch motor

I cant say the steering pipes were the problem, the rest of it was :( took most of the day to get the mount plate and winch in the gap - cut away as much as possible, and even then there was on an inch or so to jiggle the winch and the plate over the dumb irons - even with an extra pair of hands. All i can say is its on and doubt it'll be coming off in a hurry

ne-crock - did you put anything behind the winch to stop the cable embedding itself in the rad? i'm thinking of a sticking a sheet of plate behind it, just to be on the safe side?
