Just returning to the tow bar for a minute, I should have said earlier that although this Tow-Trust kit stipulates that rear bumper removal is not required, it's miles and miles easier to fit if the bumper is off.....took me not much more than 30 mins, but I reckon it would have been 3-4 times that if trying to work around the bumper fitted :woohoo:
AND...you can deal with all the crap and corrosion that's hidden behind there while you're at it

You've a tidy looking Jimny there Gus, I like the back hard top too, much better than soft tops, never had an interest in soft tops. Feel like I'm leaving the door open. No security, but your idea is good..

Yes I followed his thread while he was developing them. They are worth every penny and seeing your nice red Jimny with that top almost makes me want another. How does the rear door work without fettling to retain its use then?

Thanks, Tony...yes it's coming along nicely.
Sadly, no matter how secure the rest of the car is, the real weak point is the front soft top, and I've always wished I had the skills and the facilities to build a good quality, permanently fitted version, or at worst a not-so-easily-removed version.
The one single item I miss on the soft top above all others is the roof rails...can't fasten my kayak to the sloping back

If I told you that, John...I'd have to kill you
Will put pictures up when I get chance....
And have you noticed that your last two 'quotes' have deviated from the original in layout...something isn't right

That's a thought. My Vitara I once had with a detachable hard top had a front piece made of the same material. Great kit too. Sad thing was I bought the whole roof shebang cos I don't like rag tops and consequently I never took the top off! :blush:gusthegorilla wrote:
