Added set of 5 locking nuts as my jimny only had a locking nut on the spare when I got it (now have 2 on spare  lol) and straightened the spare wheel holder which was twisted so the tyre touched the rubber on the o/s edge and not the n/s it now just touches both sides on the side biters of the mud terrains.

As winter will soon be upon us we washed our Jimny at lunchtime then added 3 coats of polish and 2 coats of wax, Little Jimmy Grenson looks great now and well protected from whatever the weather can throw at him.
Knackered now so having a tin or 2 in the afternoon sunshine.

If waxoil is so good, how come that tin on your shelf will have the bottom rusted through by now? ;)

And enough runs down the can to get on the bottom to give it a good coating.

On topic,
scraped all the "powder coating*" flakes off the towbar and smartened it up with black smoothrite.
Fetched the mudshields out, cleaned the rust off the front body mounts, and daubed all the wheelarches with another coat of underseal.

I can't be far off the 1420kg now with all the waxoil, dinitrol hammerite, smoothrite and underseal, and it is still going rusty

*Powder coating is worse than useless under a car, would have been better if it was supplied etch primered, and I'd painted it with smoothrite in the first place.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Its a losing battle to be honest. We do all this stuff to try and prevent it but all we can do is slow the process down a little bit :'(

Polished the headlights, they now look brand new and clear again :)

And made a start to fitting my D&G frontbumper to the car. Needed some polyester work because its not fitting out of the box :(

A few years ago I bought a gallon tin plus some 1 litre ones of the stuff to use on a Vitara I'd just bought and since then I have had about four motors and I have given them all a dose using the stuff I bought. In fact yesterday I just finished doing the Rav4 and have used up all I had. I was so glad I kept hold of the left overs. I always think I am keeping a car forever, so I Waxoyl it then soon after it gets flogged!!

Not so really. I've had a gallon tin for years and it is completely rust free. I am gonna use it to carry petrol or kerosene.
