Fitted some recovery points and moved the number plate up to hide the bright orange winch!

I got stuck in it! Trying to show my cousin what I could do and my plan backfired. We got out after about an hour of digging and shuffling it back and forwards and with the help of my new waffle boards ( I'm very impressed with them! )

Must pull my finger out and get my winch fitted.

What does wading like that do to engine mechanicals like alternators etc?

well in the time i spent on salisbury plain with idiotmobil (was quite alot of relatively deep muddy water) my starter motor filled with shite and was getting stuck on for the next week or so till i stripped it and cleaned it.

so yea other parts can be badly affected from wading!!

i just spray everything in WD40 on a regular basis, builds up a wd40/grit/dirt barrier.

i think but not 100% that the fan is constantly running so can throw water around the engine bay, maybe fit an electric swited fan if this is the case and you do alot of deep wading.

if crossing fords properly with a bow wave on the go the engine bay stays relatively water free ;)

treating your jimny like a submarine may be different!

Hells teeth thats abit deeper then id be comfortable with in a jimny  fair play tho, we have a crossing down this way called lamerhoe and its a ford across the river Tamar, its about 75ft across with an average depth of 2-3ft without any rain. Been across it a couple of times in the landrover but have never had the bottle in a suzuki
