Im in the final touches for my rear seats (deleted) cargo modifications.
All the stuff is attached to the MDF board. There is a 30cm hatch to get access to the lift jack with some hinges under the OEM mat.

Almost done, fitting my winch :)

Just need to make a support for the outer motor, a bit too heavy to leave it unsupported.

I finished my battery re-location, have a look here: www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum/8-my-ji...n-continues?start=24

Jamjim - that sticker is great, just don't get stuck in front of LR owners or they'll rib you saying "I THOUGHT IT COULD GO ANYWHERE!" - It's out of jealousy but they may still do it!

Paqueras - your interior looks nice with the carbon fibre and the steering wheel!

TomDK - I've never heard of anyone supporting the second motor's weight before on a Gigglepin twin motor conversion - have you emailed / called them to discuss it? Are you going to trim the bonnet some more so the top of the old grill bit is straight to get rid of the bits that used to come down? It might look tidier than it being jagged like that.

I took the rubber boots off my winch motor connectors as I found they kept water in, encouraging corrosion on the connections.

You won't need an engine with that winch to pull you around! Just a big alternator to generate the electricery to allow it to pull you around!

The twinmotor-adaptor is not a Gigglepin-design, but made by an Australian company, Flamin Fabrications. Although Gigglepin sells them in the UK :-) And a support-bracket does come with the adaptor :)

Yes I have given the edge of the bonnet some thought. doesn't look too clean as it is now. Perhaps I should do as you mention, and then weld it together with the supporting structure on the underside. This hould also give back some of the strength, now that I've removed so much from it.

I think I'll keep the rubber boots for the motor connections. They do provide some protection against short circuiting.

Edit:
Yes, really need a bigger alternator and also another battery. I'm planning on installing another similar battery in a few months, and putting the both in the back. Don't have rear seats fitted, so this would be the best solution regarding weight distribution :)

Took my poorly Jimny over to Todmorden where James (J999PRE) kindly showed me how to tackle checking and rebuilding the hub for leakage issue's, learnt a lot and will have a go at tackling the other side myself. I now have a nice clean hub!!!!!

Did mine also.. took a total of 15 minutes using my trusty electric impact wrench!.. even jacked up the other side to tip the oil onto the seal before packing up and its still fine.. :) success :)

also finished putting the rest of those extra 6 inches between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch.. only problem now is I have to do the bracket for the load proportioning valve... anybody got a photo showing the standard one so I can guestimate the size of the bracket on mine..?
