little fu@#$*s!! hope alls ok john and that they didnt steal your bead seat covers I know how much they mean to you!!!!

The bead covers are still there Alex, it's all there is in the Chimny so it's more aggravating that he/she/it/they did damage for nothing. The scrote only got as far as stoving in the lock on the Mitsy, which seems to be the second hit of the night, before we reckon the alarm kicked in. Chummy must have seen it was alarmed though and cameras and spotlights and ploughed on regardless!!!

I've worked on them from 10am to 5pm and managed to salvage the locks.

Sad to hear that !!!
Hope there was not too much damage done !

I was lucky as interiorwise they are all intact. The Chimny had been ransacked but as I said there was nowt to find and there is a safe in the Pajero!!

The metalwork is a real mess but I have straightened up as much as possible.

It's worth noting that there are some sticky pieces of legislation regarding spotlights in the UK. I was recently pulled by Officer Dibble for using my 4 spots on a country lane local to me. I was a fraction slow on dipping my 4 Ringline 55watt driving lights on my roof bars. His initial reason for pulling me over was that he "knew" that they were illegally bright. When pressed for the legal limits he couldn't tell me, and called for a traffic car on the radio. Traffic would not attend, but gave some "advice" over the radio. Apparently, my lights were illegal, because of how they were switched. My roof mounted lamps were switched on a simple on/off switch on the dash board. This (apparently) classifies them as fog lights, which have to be mounted 500mm or lower on the front (if I recall correctly). Obviously, my lenses and bulbs are e marked for Driving lights (E13) and because of the way they were switched, he said he could have fined me for using my lights inappropriately or for wrong position of lights. I now have them wired to come on with full beam, using the switch as an isolator. The instructions to do this are in the how to fit a lift and lights thread in the technical section. There is no issue with "driving lights" on roof bars as long as they are symmetrically mounted, and you are not using them to dazzle other road users!
Stay legal folks!

he probably had a full tank when he pulled away

as you said brave man, ive been 80 in mine and that was a hairy experiance!

today so far ive wired my backbox to the chassis to stop it banging on the tie down point, i almost had a mental breakdown yesterday laning because of it banging around
used a cycle brake cable inner as its twisted steel so very strong and the metal inside bit of a chocolate block/connector thing to join it up, also wrapped some rubber round the piece of chassis to stop it possibly wearing through!maybe excessive but hey.
