Show us your load liner! was created by GuardianAngel
I have stripped out the back seats of the J, and am prepping it to get the rear tray sorted (welded and waterproofed etc).

Once done, I will be putting in some kind of load liner, but not sure what. Will it be a simple board (wood or metal), or something with storage pockets, choices choice choices!

So, I am looking for inspiration. Photos and construction details would be appreciated :)

Silly question, but do you mean a box with a lid behind the seats?

progress to date .....

lift-up rear storage base

made it using 9mm ply - which really isn't up to the job, it's OK but don't see it standing up to much abuse, but I'll be able to use it as a template and will be able to quickly make a more substantial top board replacement, probably using Buffalo board.

Thanks all, keep 'em coming :)

@Halford: How do you cater for the uneven floor? I was thinking about using different sizes of rubber feet to screw on the underside of the base board and build on that, and maybe using the seat/seat belt bolts to secure it in place. Got to say I love the storage and being able to hide things away underneath.

@wanderingstar: Did a search and it came up with a few threads. I assume its the same as the ORA one? I like the look of this, but I would want to build some form of storage around it. Maybe a box and lid to hook over the rear lip.

@joakae I also like this(!), but I guess it only works if the rear seats are still fitted? I also remember it being bloody expensive?

Nope the ORA one is the same as mine ;)
It could be made however you wanted i belive ian was going to run some draw runners for a lid and storage etc

Hi Guardian

think I've just got the base board sitting on some rear mud mats, simply the weight keeping it down - doesn't bump around at all.

here's a cool link -
