Jack-up the back of the jimny take off the wheel, then undo the bolt from inside the wheel arch you can see it better from there.. ;)

And spray them every few hours for a couple of days before hand with penetrating oil. Also make sure you have a proper fitting spanner, ring spanners with "star" pattern heads with turn the edges off the nut.

ooo thanks i was doing it from under the car.im i right in thinking wd40 aint a penetrating fluid.might be able to get some heat on it inside wheel arch then.

I wouldn't go anywhere near there with a naked flame, it's mighty close to the fuel tank.

yah saw that when i got back under the car ta,had wheel off n still cant undo it,its such a tight space,how much u recon ta get a mobile machanic ta put shocks on.

I read in a recent back to back magazine test that 'plusgas' is the most effective penetrating fluid. Mind you it didn't do much good trying to get off my pitman arm :ohmy:

Just get some heat on it, just be careful. I did mine that way with a small blow torch well Steve did. It will come straight off mate. The bolt is facing the opposite way to the fuel tank
At least if it does set on fire you know you have a fuel leak lol :silly: :silly:

Yes, the rear shock bolt kit contains both the upper and lower bolts.
