Hi All was created by chimpbikes
Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to this site and to owning a Jimny.
Its a 2006 the bloke i bought it off has done the mods i would have done myself.......................
Raised it 3", Steering damper, ARB bumper and winch, snorkel, breather kit, Helle spot ligths and BFG Mud terrains.
I have just had a stainless steel exhaust made for it (£280) because the original was blowing just infront of the cat.
I want to carry out a oil and filter change and was wondering if I could use fully synthetic the jimny has done 54000 miles???
Anyway I'm sure I'll be now a regtular on this site.
Thanks,
Chimpbikes

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

To answer your question, fully synthetic is fine.
If it is a VVT it needs 5w30, the ordinary twin cam needs 10w30, but most people use 10w40 because it is cheaper.
Halfords were selling 5w30 Magnatec fully synthetic @ £17 for 4 litres last week, the offer might still be on.

Sorry cant post photo's of the wee beastie or the exhaust, I'm offshore for another 4 weeks!
I was thinking of Mobil1 fully synth because I can get fairly cheap from Costco. I'll get the filter and plugs from here for when i get home.
Another question....to stick with the standard air filter or get a KN?
Cheers,
El Chimpo
