The TDS Winches are probably the most reliable if on a budget.
Before I bought my TDS winch I also considered a Superwinch Talon. But found several bad stories on google regarding the Talon winch. The TDS I have only read good things about.

sorry, didn't see that this is your max budget. If the orange color is your only grudge towards the winchmax, a can of black paint can easily fix that
