X brake handbrake. was created by Smoggy
Will be picking up my axles from Gazwell early next month. They are SJ reinforced axles with chromoly 4340 driveshafts/arb lockers front and rear. They have been adapted to fit a jimny and the rear has had a disc conversion from a ford granada. Gary said there is no connection for a handbrake to the rear discs. Instead he relies on an 'X brake' from the gearbox/transferbox. Does anyone know what this entails and how I can go about converting my handbrake to this system. Cheers in advance.

Do you have an SJ Transfer box fitted? If not, it's not a bad modification as they appear to be stronger and give the option of a 'rocklobster' conversion.
If so, the brake just bolts on the back. You will need to obtain a drive flange. Sammi boxes came with a rear flange fitted as standard, otherwise a front one should fit. One or two people have just cut down the original drum to make a flange.

Do you mean - How do you fit a Lobster box to a Jimny or How do I fit an X-Brake to a lobster box? Or both?
