To be honest id go to a play day first and just do the easy bits, There will be people about to help if you get stuck. I don't recommend greenlaning going solo as if you get into difficulty then you might get a little stuck.
Some advice you will be given is rubbish and some may be helpful. DO NOT ask landrover drivers!!!!!
Best thing to do is keep you eye out on here for a greenlane or play day meet and we will all do our best to help you.

You don't need training! Just take things easy and don't be afraid to ask if you are unsure.
I went to Cowm for my first playday (driving legal myself) and just pottered about going through the easy bits.
Watch others doing stuff and then decide if I felt up for it.
I will go a'lot further now I have a 4x4 that I don't mind the odd dent or scratch, and also it is more capable than the old lwb pajero I used to go with.

After next weekend at the 4x4 show I'm up for a playday, but this will more likely be Briercliffe as I have not yet been there and it is also the nearest to myself.

Getting a bit boring driving the jimny around Lytham and St.Annes atm, people keep staring at me. Even nearly caused a nice crash as a guy was more interested in my jimny than the car he was about to pull out into.

I saw another black Jimny in B & Q carpark this afternoon. It had mud tyres on so another possibe contender.

Yes got it folks and got well and trully stuck in a boggy field today.
I was shocked really as I thought it would have been more capable in a bit of mud. :(
Oh well luckily the local farmer towed me out or else i'd have still been there now .
