hi mate,
after i trimmed all the arched and removed the front inner arches i filled the gaps with expanding foam, its was a messy job, it gets every where mate. once dried i trimmed it all nice and neat then sprayed it black it looks fine you cant even tell its there. I only did this to prevent mud getting into all the gaps.

hope this helps

You want to be careful using this stuff. Firstly it is powerful stuff. Saw a vid of someone using it on a boat. As it expanded it buckled the deck and wrote the boat of. Also when used on a motor vehicle There is a good chance of water getting between foam and body panel and not being able to get out. Resulting in increased corrosion.

Ohh it's waterproof alright. So is the steel body panel. It is condensation that causes the water to be in there. It can#t get out , until it rusts its way out.
It was when I had a Minor that this subject was raised for injecting into chassis legs and sills. There was quite a compelling argument not to. Can't remember the details offhand.
Possible help may be to give a liberal soaking with Waxoyl..
