i would go external great for moving trees! and protecting the bodywork. if you go internal and you roll it may save you but the jimny will more than likely be wrote off. do a tight fit one you wont notice it

I think an internal is only good if made to MSA spec and you can afford to trash the body shell.
My cage is external and I class it as a play cage as I don't compete, its just a bit of insurance If I roll the jimny.

my motor is quite tidy so an external cage would make more sense.decisions decisions, best start practising with the pipe bender.

After I've changed plans for my Jimny and wants it road legal, I also want an internal cage.

Because of that I just found out that OMP makes an internal cage for the Jimny. Perhaps that was something to consider?

The only naughty bit is the bar in front of the windscreen.

It's not about an external or internal cage being road legal or not.

But many external cage here on Bigjimny have one major flaw in my opinion. There's no diagonal tubing in any of the rear sections of the cage. Which means that the cage is not in any way as strong as one with diagonal tubing.

One other thing, I don't care whether it's internal or external. But since OMP makes one and it happens to be internal. That's just the easiest choice for me :-)
